The Future . . .
The 400th anniversary celebration was a world class event successfully hosted by the people of the St. Croix Valley.

Since its earliest days the Ste-Croix Committee has been determined to ensure a legacy remains after activities of 2004 were completed.

On the American side . . .
The United States Park Service is committed to a major redevelopment of its interpretation site at Red Beach, just outside Calais, Maine.
A 1998 general management plan for St. Croix Island and the Red Beach site calls for improvements to the site, enhancements to the existing shelter and a "walk through time" interpretive trail.
Already the site has been made home to six "larger than life" bronze statues of characters from the 1604 era. (Many of the images on this web site are derived from these statues.)

On the Canadian side . . .
Efforts are underway to build a reconstruction of the Ste Croix Island habitation of 1604.
Located on the mainland the "settlement" will overlook the island from International Historic Park at Bayside, New Brunswick.
A subcommittee of the Ste-Croix Legacy has begun the task of developing a detailed proposal for the site.
